When you try to install Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 (KIS) or Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 (KAV) in Windows Vista, especially those running OEM or upgrade version of Vista Home Premium and Home Basic, may encounter a very rare error 1722 which causes problem of unable to install Kaspersky products in Windows Vista.

To solve the installation problem, simply use the following workaround by applying and merging the registry key value into the registry. After that you should be able to install Kaspersky Internet Security or Kaspersky Anti-Virus without any error. Note that you should apply Vista32.reg if you’re using 32-bit Vista and Vista64.reg if you’re using 64-bit Vista.
