PC World has a first look at the new Windows Live Search and its first impression was that it’s big improvement over MSN Search. Google killer? No, not yet. But not bad either.

Windows Live

The image search of Windows Live Search is particular well liked, where it’s more user friendlier than the Google image search. In Windows Live Search image search, the search engine will show more information when you mouse over the images’ thumbnails in Windows Live Search. If you click on an image, the search results will be relocated to the left side of the page while the right panel showing the page where the photo originally appeared.

Overall, PC World felt Windows Live Search shows some promise…but then almost anything is going to be an improvement over MSN search.

Update: Windows Live Search is now named as Bing.
