If you’re travel oriented, or wish to find trip information, travel guides, travel reviews by real travelers, or simply want to connect to members or guides from certain travel destination, there are plenty of useful interactive website with niche in travel or trip planning, guides, user reviews, deals, advise and etc.

TripAdvisor – Offers free travel guide, research, unbiased opinions, reviews written by travelers, links to relevant travel articles from newspapers, magazines and travel guidebooks to help plan a vacation trip. TripAdvisor covers over 200,000 hotels and attractions in 30,000 destinations worldwide, and also has a very active traveler forum area (bulletin boards).

VirtualTourist – A community travel site features user-contributed travel guides and contents with photos, comments, detailed tips and reviews for almost all locations world wide, updated by more than 700,000 members that highlights the places they live in or have visited. Also provides users with the ability to know and make friends with fellow travelers around the world, and users may have their homepage too, although not as customizable as MySpace.

Holiday Watchdog – A travel information websites popular in the United Kingdom and provides travel and holiday reviews on holiday accommodations, hotels, hostels, chalets, resorts and apartments written by real holidaymakers from around the world, with a holiday discussion forum.

The Travel Insider – Offers blogs by guests, user forums, airline reviews, travel books and travel newsletter reviews, travel reference materials, and various guides.

LastMinuteLiving (no longer available) – Features user-submitted reviews and guides on travel experience, travel plan and hotels, plus other contents not really related to traveling, as the website’s theme is Tips for Smarter Living. However, Last Minute Living offers blogs to the users.

Tripmates (website now focuses to insurance) – An interactive travel community that allows users connects with other travellers or guides at the trip destination before departure, finds tripmates or travel buddy or travel dating, discover current and unbiased travel info from member-generated reviews and discussions, ask a “trip guru” for insider travel tips, and share travel blogs and photos. Tripmates even has the ability to organize group trips with Tripvite feature. Tripmates staff dubbed Tripmates as Yahoo Trip Planner meets MySpace, or MyTripSpace.
