The Windows 10 final RTM ISO and IMG images which Microsoft provided to OEM manufacturers to load on new devices and PCs have leaked to the web. The leaks cemented that Windows 10 Build 10240, with full build version of 10240.16384.150709-1700 is indeed the final gold master RTM release, and from retail channel. As the RTM build was compiled on July 9th, Microsoft adds general distribution release (GDR) knowledge base (KB) releases, or zero day packages (ZDPs) to the RTM build to fix and patch any bugs that discovered after that.

The first leak of Windows 10 RTM came last week from China, where an original OEM IMG image of 64-bit Windows 10 RTM en-US Pro and Home was uploaded to a popular Chinese forum. Though the IMG image is original, but the file name of the IMG is just a guess rather than official name, as the uploader only managed to get the part number when he obtained the image. The IMG file information as follow:

File Name: X20-08980_SW_DVD5_NTRL_Win_10_64BIT_English_Win_Pro.img
Size: 4,083,855,360 bytes

All these ISOs may be redundant if you’re creating ISO from ESD, which was delivered through Windows Update to Windows Insider.

In addition to the Windows 10 ISO images above, WZor also released the language packs (MUI and LIP) for Windows 10 RTM, together with Single Language (SL) version of the above ISO images. Single Language version of Windows 10 is released in emerging market to help reduce piracy. It only allows single language to be installed and has no ability to add other languages.

You may or may not hear the “RTM” on Windows 10 general availability date when the new OS is released to general public. Microsoft has intended to tone down the development milestone of Windows operating system, but instead continue to roll out patches, hotfixes, and updates to Windows as part of Windows as a Service commitment for the life of the device.
