Google News is a news aggregator and app developed by Google. Google News is the go-to place for many people who are looking for latest and breaking news organized from thousands of news sources, publishers and magazines.

Google News is available for desktop web browsers, Apple iOS and Android devices. For many users who are using desktop web-based Google News, the Google News user interface and design has been trustworthy, reliable, and easy to use for a very long time, until recently.

On June 2017, Google redesigned Google News desktop website in order to make news more accessible and easier to navigate, with a renewed focus on facts, diverse perspectives, and more control for users. On May 2018, Google rolled out another changes to Google News, this time focusing on using real-time artificial intelligence / machine language (AI/ML) to organize the news, in addition to further layout user interface changes, such as addition of “For You”, “Full Coverage”, “Newsstand” and “Favorites”. While the changes are mobile app focused, it does affect the desktop site too.

The new layout of Google News may not be suitable for everyone, especially in term of usability, readability, familiarity and lack of customization. Furthermore, the ability to change edition of Google News to different region and/or language has been moved to the bottom, and you’re required to click or tap an additional radio button before change is applied.

If you have to revert and get back to the classic UI for Google News even before the mid 2017 change, bookmark and use the following URL as your entry to Google News:

https://news.google.com/news/feeds?output=rss&q=%

As Google has deprecated most support for classic layout, the above Google News URL has some limitation though. For example, it works only on the front page (you click on any sub-categories it will change back to new layout), you can’t change edition of Google News, you can’t explore more or see real-time coverage (again, redirect back to new format), and all video news is not working.

If you want a more complete experience based on old Google News layout format, visit the following website that is dedicated to present Google News in classic old design format, as in the format used by Google News in 2014/2015/2016 to mid 2017:
