Microsoft webcam LifeCam series currently has two modals and that’s
Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 which is the cheaper budget option with VGA video and HD (1.3 Megapixel) still photos, and higher end version of Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000. LifeCam VX-6000 features 1.3 megapixel video resolution and 5 megapixel photo resolution, built-in unidirectional microphone with acoustic noise cancellation, wide angle lens, 3x digital zoom, high-speed USB connection, integration with and optimized for Windows Live Messenger with Windows Live Call Button, LifeCam Dashboard and One-Touch Blogging, automatic face tracking software, automatically adjusts for low-light conditions and universal attachment base for fitting on most surface.
ABC News (dead link) reviews Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000 and concludes that “when using the webcam with Win-dows Live Messenger, I found the video quality to be good, and the 30 fps rate meant no jumpy video. I did, however, have some audio problems. When using AIM, I noticed a slight delay in both audio and video. I had the worst experience using Yahoo!. The video was jumpy and grainy. Overall, the VX-6000 is a reasonably priced webcam with a nice set of features, but I wish the mic worked better.”
