If you can believe a list of new 7 Wonders of the World created by a for-profit company which trying to earn money by all means, including allowing buying extra votes with money, then you probably want to participate in the global exercise to vote for the new Seven Wonders of the World.
New 7 Wonders of the World is an initiative to propose a revision of the ancient Seven Wonders of the World, organized by a Swiss-based, money-making corporation called New Open World Corporation (NOWC). As mentioned, the selection, based on vote via phone, SMS or online from the public, is being made by free and paid votes. To vote you have to register as New7Wonders members and will be allocated 7 free votes to vote for 7 different candidates. If you feel that one vote is not enough, and you want to vote again, you can call or SMS (extra charge apply) to vote again for unlimited times. But while you doing so, NOWC will collect its revenue from telecommunication operators.
Why there is a need for New 7 Wonders of the World is unclear. Why it’s a project NOWC is more intriguing, as the NOWC aim is for documenting, maintaining, restoring and reconstructing world heritage under the motto “Our Heritage is Our Future”, clearly not related to maintain the list of 7W of the World, except of the chance to profiteering from it with private donations, merchandise sales, revenue from selling broadcasting rights, voting charges, and a useless voting certificate.
