Logitech Motion Detector and QuickCapture Sidebar Gadget

If you own a Logitech QuickCam web camera, you can save some money from buying a spycam. Logitech has released for free download Windows Vista sidebar gadgets that are designed exclusively for use with Logitech products. If you fancy to have a motion detector system or security alarm system that will monitor and record whoever entering your house or passing through an area, you can easily do that with just a Logitech webcam.

Motion Detector Gadget will help you to keep a watchful eye even when you’re not around. This Gadget acts like a motion detection sonar, triggering a recording whenever it senses movement (sensitivity configurable) within the field of view of Logitech QuickCam. Recording will automatically stop when the motion stops. All motion recorded in video clip will save in an .AVI file in a predefined location which you set. The videos are even time and date stamped for that it’s easier to keep track of what and when happened.

Also available is QuickCapture Gadget, a three-in-one Gadget which consists of QuickPicture which takes snapshots with a single click, QuickCapture that records, stores and emails videos, and QuickView that shows live feed from Logitech QuickCam. According to Logitech, QuickCapture Gadget can be used to compose and preview your video communications, watch remote rooms and hallways in real time, or even create a “security” monitor by setting the time-delay recording function.

All these programs are available as Vista sidebar gadget, tiny applications that runs in desktop sidebar as background process, and designed to increase your digital productivity and online fun.
