If you don’t believe British army will never ever win in Iraq, try to look at the below video and you will know why.

Entertained? Nice song? Is This the Way to Armadillo is actually a spoof video of the song Is This the Way to Amarillo originally sung by Tony Christie, and was later mimed by comedian Peter Kay where he lipped sings Is This The Way To Amarillo in a video for Comic Relief 2005. The spoof video was produced by the Royal Dragoon Guards stationed in Iraq’s Al Faw base with a handheld video camera as home video. It’s a British way of humor, purpose for morale boosting and well wishing. When it was first released in May 2005, it even crashed the UK’s Ministry of Defense (MoD) server.

In the spoof video, “Peter Kay” character is credited as “Lucky Pierre”, a joke reference to three-in-a-bed gay sex. It was actually acted by Staff Sergeant Roger Parr from the Dragoon Guards’ tank regiment.

Watch also the original Peter Kay On the Way to Amarillo video on Red Nose Day 2005 (RND ’05) to raise money for Comic Relief charity. Be surprise to watch tons of celebrities, including William Roache, Anne Kirkbride, Bernie Clifton, That Ostrich, Keith Harris, Orville the duck, Patrick McGuinness, Sir Jimmy Saville, Sally Lindsay, Bez and Shaun Ryder from Happy Mondays, Jeffrey Hayes and Bungle from Rainbow, Roger Taylor and Brian May from Queen, Michael Parkinson, Ronnie Corbett, Trevor Payne from Cliff, Heather Mills McCartney, Danny Baker, Sooty and Sweep, lookalikes of Cliff Richard and Mahatma Gandhi, Jim Bowen, Mr Blobby, Shakin’ Stevens and Tony Christie himself.

If you love the song of On the Way to Amarillo, here’s the lyric:

Sha la la lala lalala
Sha la la lala lalala
Sha la la lala lalala

When the day is dawning
On a Texas Sunday morning
How I long to be there
With Marie who’s waiting for me there
Every lonely city where I hang my hat
Ain’t as half as pretty as where my baby’s at

Is this the way to Amarillo
Every night I’ve been hugging my pillow
Dreaming dreams of Amarillo where Marie who waits for me

Show me the way to Amarillo
I’ve been weeping like a willow
Crying over Amarillo
Where Marie who waits for me

Sha la la lala lalala
Sha la la lala lalala
Sha la la lala lalala
And Marie who waits for me

There’s a church bell ringing
Hear the song of joy that it’s singing
For the Marie
And the guy who’s coming to see her

Just beyond the highway, there’s an open plain
And it keeps me going through the wind and rain

Is this the way to Amarillo
Every night I’ve been hugging my pillow
Dreaming dreams of Amarillo
where Marie who waits for me

Show me the way to Amarillo
I’ve been weeping like a willow
Crying over Amarillo
where sweet Marie who waits for me

Sha la la lala lalala
Sha la la lala lalala
Sha la la lala lalala
And sweet Marie who waits for me

Sha la la lala lalala
Sha la la lala lalala
Sha la la lala lalala
And sweet Marie who waits for me

Sha la la lala lalala
Sha la la lala lalala
Sha la la lala lalala
And sweet Marie who waits for me
